Brad LaValley and Dan Bondanza grew up as neighbors in the small town of Parkside in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Brad graduated from Widener University with a degree in mechanical engineering, and entered the workforce while still in school. Dan graduated from West Chester University with a secondary education degree in mathematics and subsequently taught high school math for over a decade. 

After years in their respective industries, the childhood friends teamed up, combining their mathematical and engineering expertise to pursue the dream of starting their own business.

The Spalted Trunk began with a partnership, but has since expanded to a six-person team!
